Verifex Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of Verifex. By installing or using the app, you agree to them. See also the Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect and why.
1. What Verifex does and doesn't do
Verifex checks certifications you add against publicly available or provider-exposed records, where a provider makes that possible. A "Verified" result means Verifex's automated check found a matching record at the time of the check — it does not mean Verifex, or Studio014 Incorporated, issued, endorsed, or vouches for the underlying certification. Providers can change or remove their records at any time, outside our control.
Verifex is a verification and organization aid. It is not a substitute for an employer's, regulator's, or other authority's own compliance process, and should not be treated as the sole basis for a compliance, hiring, or safety decision.
2. Your responsibilities
- You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you add to the app (e.g. confirming a photographed certificate matches the person it's added for).
- You won't use Verifex to misrepresent someone else's certifications as your own, or to falsify verification results.
- You're responsible for keeping your device secure, since Verifex's wallet data lives on your device by default.
3. Backup feature
Backup is optional and off by default. If you turn it on, you are solely responsible for maintaining access to the device and account (e.g. your Google or Apple account) that Backup's restore mechanism relies on — see the Privacy Policy for how restore actually works. If you lose access to that device or account, we cannot restore your data for you, and we are not liable for any resulting data loss. Backup is provided on a best-effort basis; we do not guarantee that a given backup or restore will succeed (see Section 5).
4. Account deletion
Verifex does not require a traditional email/password account. Tapping Delete Account in the app permanently deletes your wallet — every certification, your profile, and your verified identity — from your device. If you have Backup turned on, this also permanently deletes your encrypted backup from our servers at the same time, not just the copy on your device. Deletion is immediate, cannot be undone, and there is no grace period or recovery option once confirmed. Anonymized verification-result data (see the Privacy Policy) is never linked to you and is unaffected by account deletion, since there is nothing in it that identifies you to delete.
5. Service availability
Verification depends on third-party providers' systems being available and accurate, which we don't control. We don't guarantee that any given provider's verification will always succeed, or that Backup will always be available — both are provided on a best-effort basis.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
Verifex is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Studio014 Incorporated is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Verifex, including decisions made in reliance on a verification result.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app evolves. Continued use of Verifex after a change means you accept the updated terms. Material changes will be noted in the app.
